Originally from Cincinnati, I've been designing and illustrating for over 25 years, for clients large and small! I can help you create a connection with your audience by the warmth and familiarity that are part of my illustrations. My degree is from the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Art, Architecture & Planning. I’ve worked for a division of Bates Advertising in their creative department as a technical artist and illustrator on accounts such as Wendy’s and The State of Ohio Governor’s Office. Following that, I worked for a small Christian publisher as a designer/illustrator for book covers and various illustration projects. I also have my degree in Art Education and have taught in public, private, and charter schools. My freelance work has spanned my whole professional life with all kinds of clients (see below). My focus now is on children's book illustration, editorial projects and products for children. Let me help you tell your story!
When I'm not drawing, I love spending time with my family, exploring our new city with my husband, keeping up with my son and daughter in college, reading, collecting vintage children's books and handmade toys, cooking and baking, doing the occasional watercolor and watching corny Hallmark movies because they always have a happy ending. I love taking new classes and connecting with illustrators and designers. I'm also known for my yearly handmade Christmas cards and my chocolate chip cookies (a skill passed down from my grandma!). Thank you for visiting my site!
